    Annual safety fair keeps getting bigger & better! Children of all ages can try their hand with a fire hose, escape from a smoky room, ride on a fire truck, try on firefighter gear, and maneuver through the fire safety obstacle course. Community partners who share their commitment to children and family safety, will line the streets with information booths. FREE. 10am-2pm.

  • October 9 - Fire Safety Week
    National Fire Safety and Prevention Week is held each year to mark the anniversary of the 1871 Great Chicago Fire and raise public awareness of fire safety. Learn about this year's theme with hands-on activities, take home sheets, and special presentations. Saturday the 9th is a family FREE day from 10am-2pm.
  • December 11 - Holiday Open House
    Enjoy a tour of Old Station No. 1, holiday refreshments, crafts for the kids, and a visit with Santa! 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. FREE

    In celebration of Buffalo Bill Days, Golden History Museums is offering free admission to the Astor House Museum and the Golden History Center. On Saturday, July 24th, Clear Creek History Park will have special activities from 10 am – 3 pm. Linda Griffin will be cooking on the woodstove in the Pearce Cabin and Pat Hughes will give tours of the buildings and encourage visitors to play pioneer games. Free admission is made possible by the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District.

  • Saturday and Sunday, August 21-22, 10 am – 3:00 pm
    Lace making, cooking, and blacksmithing were part of daily life on the frontier. Watch demonstrations of these and other traditional skills, taste what’s cooking on the woodstove and say hello to the chickens. The Clear Creek History Park showcases the artisans of yesteryear as part of the annual Golden Fine Arts Festival

    In conjunction with the Colorado Railroad Museum, Golden History Museums is offering free admission to the Astor House Museum, Clear Creek History Park and the Golden History Center.

  • Friday, December 3, 7 – 9 pm
    Stroll through the Astor House Museum, Clear Creek History Park, and the Golden History Center as you join friends and neighbors in the Golden Candlelight Walk. Sing carols, warm yourself with hot chocolate and cookies, and enjoy our festive holiday decor. Free admission.
